Natasha Salemme, LMT
I was a mental health therapist for 13 years before shifting into massage work. Throughout my years as a therapist, I learned that we carry our stress, pain, and trauma in our bodies and the best way to access healing is by working with the physical body. I believe my work as a therapist informs my practice as a massage practitioner. I bring the same empathic support, deep listening, and presence to my sessions with clients.
I provide a modality of bodywork called biodynamic massage, developed by Todd Jackson in Portland, OR. It utilizes the same quieting practices of biodynamic cranial sacral therapy, but is implemented with Swedish massage and deep tissue massage. Biodynamic massage is a practice of deep listening and presence, therefore is quite calming and relaxing for the nervous system. Unlike other treatment modalities that adhere to a specific protocol or agenda, this practice allows the recipient’s health and inner resources to guide the treatment. Our bodies know how to heal and the biodynamic practice helps support our innate knowledge. Biodynamic massage helps to access and release areas of pain and tension in the body, whether caused by emotional trauma, stress, or physical injuries. When met with quietness and presence by the practitioner, the recipient’s system naturally reorganizes to its original state of wholeness and wellbeing.
Biodynamic massage is supportive for a wide range of needs - whether you are coming in for a relaxing “feel good” massage, to release stress/tension, or to recover from physical pain or injury. Additionally, it is a lovely form of bodywork to receive during pregnancy, as it helps promote the health and wellbeing of both mama and baby.
I love the deep connection and quietness that comes along with biodynamic work. I also enjoy nature, dancing, camping, biking, hiking, xc skiing, hot springs, poetry, big breakfasts, and baked goods. I love exploring new areas and I am quite fond of solo adventures. I engage in regular inner healing work through meditation, yoga, and qigong and my spirituality is important to me.
